Creating a Vision

Creating a vision has become  a very big part of my journey to finding balance. I think the big thing has been getting clear on the basics of what I really want. It seems until I figure out what I really want it’s nearly impossible to get there.

A week or so ago I started asking myself  “What do you want most”, all the time, for every interaction and action I took I really really thought about what I wanted MOST. It’s really easy to pull the thing you want right now into the situation and act on that, but what you want right now may not be in alignment with what you really want.

This pops up for me a lot with Hanna. What I want right now, for her, for me, is not always in alignment with what I really want most for her, for me, for our relationship. When I look at what I really want most it helps me make choices that will lead me in the direction of what I want most.

This is definitely part of creating my vision, the day to day choices I get to make that move me in the right direction. I wouldn’t be able to do that though, if I hadn’t sat down and created a vision. A vision for myself, my family, my life, my kid, my parenting, hell I even vision for my garden!

Creating a vision isn’t hard. It’s like being a little kid and letting your mind daydream, just let go of what “is” and dream of what could be. You can write your vision down, or you can let it run in your mind like a movie. There’s no wrong or right way to create your vision. You have to do what’s right for you.

My favorite days to vision are on Thursdays. :) yeah crazy. Anyway, sometimes we buy lottery tickets and the drawing is on Wednesdays. I love on Thursdays when I’m in the car on the way to check the ticket I love to create a vision of what life could be like. I dream about whwat my life would look like with the money, what we’d do, what we’d not do, how we’d feel. It’s a good time to do it because I don’t have a lot of “yeah but that’s not real” because it could be real! I could have the winning ticket in my hand!

The thing about creating a vision is this: it will be more powerful if you not only think about it, but FEEL it. Feel what you would feel like if you already had 5 million dollars, or whatever you think would change your world. The feeling part is important. It’s the part that connects you to the Universal energy and brings about more things that will be a direct match to that feeling. It’s all esoteric and seems kind of crazy, but it’s real. I’ve had so many things come out of my little Thursday vision sessions… more than one car (that we didn’t have to pay for), my daughter came directly out of one of those visions, my house, so many things.

There are of course some little tricks and tools you can use to help you manifest your vision. One of my favorites is a vision board. A vision board is simply a visual representation of your vision. It can be on paper, or on the computer, anything you can look at regularly to remind your inner you of your vision. I like to use vision board software. It makes this great screensaver vision board, and also sends me great little reminders every so often that show up in the corner of my screen. This works really well for me because I work at my computer all day, and so I’m around to get the messages. Other types of vision boards may work better for you, it all depends on you and what you like!

Here’s one of my favorite examples of the power of vision boards.  This is John Assaraf talking. If you’re not familiar with him, he was in the movie The Secret and is a law of attraction coach. Listen to his story ~ it’s quite amazing.

If you think you’d like to try a vision board, here’s the software I use to make mine.

Vision and or dream boards are so cool! Didn’t know you could get one for the computer. Will keep that in mind for later – mine is the box and poster board. Another nice post!
